DetailsWhat’s the difference between photoalbum and photobook?
Words photoalbum and photobook were created for our internal use and have no encyclopedic definition. Basic differences between them are as follows:
§ type of paper used for printouts:
» in case of photoalbum it’s a photographic paper developed in chemical process
» in case of photobook it’s a special satin paper for digital printing
§ way of production of an album block:
» block in photoalbum – is made by folding in the middle of the developed album spread and then putting between two printouts a special glued page, which joins them to create an album page. The thickness of the album page depends on the type of adhesive liner. The glued page can be black or white in the middle. Such album block can be fully opened.
» block in photobook – thin paper (weight 140g) is printed from both sides with special dry pigment, what causes that pages are connected only on the spine (gluing and sewing). Such album block can’t be fully opened (like a typical book).
